Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Make a difference in the lives of students by providing exceptional education support in a dynamic school setting near Birmingham, AL. This contract opportunity runs from August 6, 2026, through May 27, 2027, and focuses on dedicated professionals passionate about working as Special Education (Exceptional Education) Teachers. You'll primarily work with elementary students in self-contained classrooms, typically serving 4-6 students per class, with placements available for both elementary (K-6) and high school (6-12). These roles are vital in supporting students' academic and social development within a collaborative environment.
Qualifications & Experience:
Valid Alabama SPED licensure required (To verify, visit the ALSDE Certificate portal) For elementary positions: Must have K-6 endorsement For secondary positions: Must have 6-12 endorsement Previous experience with self-contained or special education classrooms strongly preferred Ability to connect with students with diverse needs and tailor instruction accordingly
Role Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized instruction and develop IEPs aligned to student needs Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with district and state guidelines Communicate proactively with families and educational teams
Onsite Interview Process:
