Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make an impact supporting early learners as a contract Special Education Teacher in a K-2 setting. This full-time opportunity is tailored for an educator passionate about guiding young students who benefit from resource services. You'll primarily serve as a pull-out instructor, providing individualized and small-group support outside the general classroom. With a weekly schedule of 37.5 hours and a manageable caseload of 20-26 students, you have the chance to create meaningful progress for children at a critical stage of development.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid Special Education Teaching Certification Proven experience working with K-2nd grade students preferred Familiarity with resource/push in-pull out service delivery models Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress tracking Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with teachers, staff, and families Ability to build relationships that encourage student confidence and growth
Primary Responsibilities:
Pull students out of the classroom for targeted special education instruction in reading, math, and other core areas Develop and implement IEPs, monitor student progress, and adjust strategies to ensure student success Collaborate with classroom teachers and paraprofessional staff to support integration and transition for students Maintain accurate records, ensure compliance, and contribute to ARD/IEP meetings as needed Provide a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic, social, and emotional growth This contract role offers the chance to focus on what you do best—helping students achieve their unique goals.
