Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. An opportunity is available for dedicated Special Education Teachers to provide impactful support across elementary, middle, and high school levels in Dothan, AL. This full-time, on-site contract position offers a purposeful role helping students with special needs achieve academic and personal growth within a structured school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique learning needs Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure integrated and inclusive educational experiences Conduct assessments and monitor student progress regularly to adjust instructional strategies accordingly Manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe, positive learning atmosphere for students with diverse abilities Participate in team meetings and professional development to stay current with best practices in special educationQualifications and Experience:
Valid Alabama Special Education teaching certification Demonstrated experience working with students in elementary, middle, or high school special education settings Strong knowledge of special education laws, instructional methods, and behavioral strategies Excellent communication skills and ability to build rapport with students, families, and colleagues Commitment to fostering student growth and inclusivity within the classroom environmentPosition Details:
