POSITION TITLE
Teacher - Special Education
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum B.S. Degree Certification in Special Education Working knowledge of computer and student information software
REPORTS TO
Principal or Principal's designee / Special Education Coordinator
RESPONSIBILITIES
Determine individual and class needs. Supervises students Establish objectives and plan learning experiences. Implement activities using a variety of techniques that utilize instructional time to meet objectives. Establish and maintain standards of student behavior to achieve a functional learning atmosphere. Exhibit positive human relations skills. Evaluate the educational program and/or student progress. Communicate with parents/guardians, colleagues and community groups. Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral communication. Maintains and submit records and reports. Adhere to school system rules, administrative procedures, local board policy, and state and federal rules and regulations. Engage in personal professional growth and demonstrate professional ethics and leadership. The planning and conduct of daily learning activities within the classroom as defined by the State Course of Study and the Board of Education. Shall perform any other job or school related duties as assigned by the Principal or Supervisor. Maintain the confidentiality of student records.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary and work year to be in accordance with the current applicable salary schedule .
EVALUATION
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's Policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
