Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Exciting opportunities are available for dedicated Special Education Teachers eager to make a positive impact in the upcoming 2026-2027 school year! Multiple contract positions are open, each offering the support of paraprofessionals and a dynamic environment for passionate educators. Whether your expertise lies in early education, elementary inclusion, or secondary self-contained settings, there's a fit for your skills.
Available roles include:
PreK Special Education Teacher for an inclusion class (up to 18 four-year-olds, including students with IEPs and typical peers, supported by two paraprofessionals; follows Eastern Standard Time schedule). General Education Inclusion Teacher (two roles: one on Central Standard Time and one on Eastern Standard Time, grades K-5, up to 11 students, with two paraprofessionals). Secondary Special Education Teacher for a self-contained class (grades 6-8, with potential inclusion of grade 5; 5-6 students, potentially up to 10; aided by two paraprofessionals; on an Eastern Standard Time schedule).
Desired Qualifications:
Valid Special Education teaching certification. Experience working with students across varying ability levels, preferably in inclusion and/or self-contained classroom settings. Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively alongside paraprofessionals and multidisciplinary teams. Innovative, flexible, and student-centered teaching approach. Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all learners.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and track student progress. Differentiate instruction to meet a range of social, emotional, and academic needs. Collaborate regularly with paraprofessionals, fellow teachers, and support staff. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local special education regulations.
