JOB DESCRIPTION
TECHNOLOGY TEACHER•
STEM FOCUS Qualifications:
Current Alabama Teacher's Certification, bachelor's degree or higher with an endorsement in general elementary education. Three (3) years of successful certified teaching experience. Experience teaching STEM, Robotics, and/or innovative classroom instruction is strongly preferred.
Essential Duties:
Prepares and delivers high-quality, interactive STEM instruction for elementary students by creating lesson plans that are culturally relevant for a diverse student population. Coordinates opportunities for students to engage with industry/subject matter experts (e.g., guest speakers, visits to area laboratories, etc.) Be a role model/mentor, promoting well-being, development, confidence, and success; motivate and inspire all to be active students in STEM activities, encouraging their long-term involvement. Encourage the development of positive peer relationships among students. Designs and adapts curriculum for students in a fun, interactive, and empowering learning environment. Ability to organize effectively (STEM nights at the school, Science Fairs, and district STEM projects) Perform other duties as assigned by the principal.
