Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Exciting opportunities are available for passionate Special Education Teachers to make a meaningful difference during the 26-27 school year. Multiple contract positions are open, each offering a supportive environment with paraprofessional assistance and a collaborative teaching atmosphere. These roles are ideal for educators dedicated to fostering inclusive, growth-oriented classrooms and supporting students' unique learning needs.
Available Positions:
PreK Special Education Teacher - Teach an inclusion class serving up to 18 four-year-olds (both IEP and typical peers). Two skilled paraprofessionals provide assistance. General Education Inclusion Teacher - Support grades K-5, co-managing one classroom on CST and one on EST. Each class serves 11 students or fewer, with paraprofessional help to ensure individualized attention for all students. Secondary Special Education Teacher - Lead a self-contained class for grades 6-8 (potentially including 5th grade). Classroom size is small, ranging from 5-6 students (up to 10 maximum), with two dedicated paraprofessionals.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid Special Education Teacher certification. Experience in inclusive and/or self-contained classroom settings preferred. Strong communication and collaboration skills. A passion for supporting students with diverse abilities and backgrounds. Ability to adapt to changing classroom dynamics and student needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individualized and group instruction tailored to student IEPs. Collaborate with paraprofessionals and general education staff to deliver inclusive educational experiences. Foster a positive and encouraging classroom environment. Maintain all documentation in compliance with school and state requirements. Engage with families and participate in team meetings as needed.
