Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher for K-2nd grade students. This full-time position (37.5 hours per week) offers the chance to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic educational setting. The role primarily involves working in a resource capacity, focusing on pull-out services for students who require additional support, with some push-in as needed. You'll serve a caseload of 20-26 students, helping each one reach their full potential through targeted instruction and individualized learning plans.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid Special Education Teacher certification Experience working with elementary-age students, particularly K-2nd grade, is preferred Familiarity with IEP development and implementation Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, staff, and families Flexible, compassionate, and committed to individual student growth
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction to students, mainly in a pull-out setting, providing academic and behavioral support as outlined in IEPs Maintain a caseload of 20-26 students, tracking progress and adjusting strategies as needed Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to ensure cohesive support Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs) Engage with parents, families, and team members to communicate student progress and goals Document student progress, prepare necessary reporting, and participate in relevant meetings This contract position offers you the autonomy to focus on teaching while making steady, meaningful contributions to students' academic journeys.
