Jul 1, 2026 Job Description Southside Middle School is looking for a special education teacher who is committed to providing high-quality support within inclusive classroom settings. Position Summary The Special Education Teacher will work collaboratively with general education teachers, interventionists, administrators, and families to support students in accessing grade-level curriculum and achieving academic, behavioral, and social success. The ideal candidate will have experience implementing inclusion practices and fostering meaningful participation for all learners. Responsibilities Provide specialized instruction and support for students with disabilities. Collaborate with general education teachers to plan, implement, and monitor accommodations and modifications. Support students in inclusive classroom environments while promoting independence and student growth. Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Collect and analyze student data to guide instructional decisions and progress monitoring. Communicate effectively with families, staff, and related service providers. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and maintain compliance with state and federal special education regulations. Foster positive relationships and advocate for student success. Qualifications Valid Arkansas Special Education teaching license (or ability to obtain licensure). Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices. Experience with inclusion, co-teaching, and collaborative instructional models preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
