CERTIFIED TEACHER Job Goal:
The primary goal of the program is to prepare students for careers in healthcare by providing rigorous, hands-on instruction in medical knowledge, patient care skills, and professional ethics that align with industry standards. The teacher fosters critical thinking, safety, and employability through real-world learning experiences, certifications, and participation in health science.Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's/Master's Degree AZ Teaching Certificate AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card Appropriately Certified The individual must meet the following qualifications per theAZ State Board of Nursing:
Hold a current, registered nurse license that is active and in good standing under A.R.S. Title 32, Chapter 15, and provide documentation of a minimum of one year full-time or 1500 hours of employment providing direct care as a registered nurse in any setting. At minimum, one of the following: Successful completion of a three-semester credit course on adult teaching and learning concepts offered by an accredited post-secondary education institution Completion of 40 hour continuing education program in adult teaching and learning concepts that was awarded continuing education credit by an accredited organization One Year of full-time or 1500 hours of experience teaching adults as a faculty member or clinical educator One year or 1500 hours of experience supervising nursing assistants, either in addition to or concurrent with the one year of experience required in subsection (C)(1)(a).Core Job Functions:
Communicates learning goals to students in a well-planned, organized manner using clear and precise language Prepare and deliver instruction appropriate to the student population, including curriculum that addresses learning styles, abilities, interests, behavior problems, and students with special needs Create lesson plans describing daily learning experiences correlated with approved curriculum and State and District standards Use available technology to enhance learning Use district and state assessment data to improve instruction and place students in appropriate instructional and intervention programs Facilitate instruction based on current research-based best practices Effectively implement Individual Education Plans Establish classroom routines to promote a positive environment conducive to effective instruction Participate in team reviews concerning the academic progress of low-performing students Document and resolve issues related to student behavior problems and attendance Reflect on teaching and strive to improve professional competence Assume legal responsibility for the supervision of students on school property or in attendance at school-sponsored activities Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities Maintain accurate, complete, legible, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation Participate inthe intervention process at sites Participate in school-wide events, scheduled meetings, and parent conferences Participate in school and District initiatives Assume individual responsibilities which may be assigned by the principal/supervisor and which may relate to committee work, student activities, student supervision, or other planning and professional assignments Meet any additional specific job requirements as indicated by the District or school siteCore Values:
