Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Exciting opportunities await for experienced Early Childhood Special Education professionals eager to support the youngest learners in a dynamic school setting near Peoria, AZ. We're seeking three dedicated educators for contract roles working with Cross-Categorical Pre-K students across both morning and afternoon sessions, each with 10-12 students. Your caseload will consist of approximately 24 students, allowing you to build meaningful connections and make a significant impact. In this collaborative role, you'll work alongside two skilled instructional assistants during student sessions, ensuring you have the support needed to provide high-quality, individualized instruction. The school operates on a four-day schedule for students, while staff benefit from a consistent five-day work week—ensuring ample time for preparation, professional collaboration, and case management.
Qualifications & Experience:
Valid Special Education teaching credential/certification, with authorization for early childhood or Pre-K. Demonstrated experience working with diverse learners in special education settings, preferably at the early childhood level. Proficiency in IEP development, instructional planning, and data-driven progress monitoring. Strong communication skills and the ability to build supportive relationships with students, families, and colleagues. Organized, flexible, and adept at managing a varied caseload.
Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging, individualized instruction for Pre-K students with varying disabilities. Develop, implement, and track IEP goals, maintaining detailed and compliant documentation. Lead case management, ensuring timely communication and collaboration with families and service providers. Collaborate effectively with instructional assistants, related service staff, and classroom teams to foster a positive, inclusive environment. Participate actively in professional development and team meetings. Make an impact in the lives of young students and help shape their educational journey.
