Jul 20, 2026 Job Description Position Summary The special education teacher will collaborate with team members including the general education teacher, related services staff, school psychologists, parents and other district personnel to facilitate the development of a comprehensive individualized education program that will support students in the least restrictive environment. Job Responsibilities Responsible for planning, developing, delivering individualized educational services, learning programs and instruction for special needs in a self-contained setting in collaboration with other school personnel. Job Requirements Knowledge of - Disabilities and their educational implications State and Federal special education laws, rules, and regulations A variety of instructional techniques and media to meet the needs and capabilities of students Modifications to regular classroom curricula as needed Assessing students through formal and informal assessments Managing student behavior using positive reinforcement Effective supervision of instructional assistants Develop compliant IEPs, supporting documents and progress reports Facilitating compliant IEP meetings, which include all special education team members Technology such as Google, data systems, Smart TVs Skill in - Writing comprehensive individualized educational plans that include specially designed instruction Organization Problem solving Facilitating meetings Communication, written and oral
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Special Education Master's Degree preferred Experience Preferred
