Category Schools - Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students as a part-time itinerant Deaf and Hard of Hearing (D/HH) teacher. Set in a supportive educational environment near Queen Creek, AZ, this contract opportunity involves working closely with a team to deliver specialized support services to students across multiple campuses, collaborating to foster a positive learning experience for those with hearing differences. What you'll bring: Certification or endorsement as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist or Teacher Experience working with children who are deaf or hard of hearing in academic settings Strong knowledge of IEP development, adaptation, and delivery Familiarity with assistive technology and classroom accommodations Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Ability to adapt teaching methods to a variety of student needs and environments Key responsibilities: Manage a shared caseload in collaboration with an on-site full-time DHH teacher Provide direct instruction to students, focusing on each individual's IEP goals Deliver consultative services to general education teachers and staff around the district Prepare and update IEPs, progress notes, and lesson plans tailored to student needs Coordinate student schedules based on location and designated service times Maintain ongoing communication with families and school teams regarding student progress This position is ideal for educators seeking flexibility, meaningful part-time work (approximately 20 hours per week), and the opportunity to collaborate within a district committed to supporting students with hearing challenges.
