POSITION DESCRIPTION
All special education staff are District employees. Specific location TBD by Director of Special Education. Under the direction of the principal, provide core instruction to supplant general ed instruction.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Duties:
Plan and provide individual and small group specialized academic instruction for District students with disabilities E; present activities that are developmentally appropriate for the students and are specially designed to conform with the student's IEP E; provide identification, assessment and remediation to district students with special education needs E; plan, develop and implement legally compliant IEP's. E; evaluate student academic and social growth; maintain appropriate records; prepare progress reports; communicate with parents/staff about student progress E; observe and monitor children's behavior and development in their environment; develop and oversee implementation of behavior plans, as appropriate E; plan and coordinate with regular education teachers to ensure classroom success for special education students E; supervise and train paraprofessionals to work with special needs students within the classroom E; provide necessary staff development at your site(s) E; provide training for parents to develop a partnership between student, school and home to ensure the success of the special needs student and to help parents understand the special needs of their children E; assist parents to seek and coordinate other services in their community that may be provided to their children by various agencies, such as Regional Center E; supervise students in and out of the classroom E; attend staff meetings and participate in in
