This role teaches high school Theology courses, coordinates student service opportunities, assists with retreats and liturgies, and collaborates with faculty and staff to foster a faith-filled school community rooted in the charism of the Sisters of the Holy Names. The ideal candidate is committed to student growth, Catholic education, and the spiritual development of young people.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching:
Plan and teach 5 sections of a combination of the Theology curriculum - a year-long 12th grade Comparative Theology course, including planning field trips and a 10th grade Ecclesiology and Sacraments course Maintain the service logs for students in all classes taught using the online tracking system Incorporate the Holy Names Sisters charism into courses and Campus Ministry activities Plan engaging lessons that meet the needs of diverse learners
Campus Ministry:
Morning prayer (shared responsibility with department members) Assist with the planning and directing of the senior Kairos retreat and coordinating and directing one grade level retreat Assist with the coordination and planning of liturgies Coordinate service program and opportunities for students Collaborate with Campus Ministry team members for Global Solidarity/Holy Week activities Coordinate and directing Schoolwide Service Day trip Coordinate the
Baccalaureate Mass Additional Responsibilities:
Some evenings and weekends required (field trips, open house, enrollment events, back to school night, graduation activities, etc.) Supervision duties including but not limited to lunch time, assemblies, liturgies, 9th grade overnight retreat and Kairos 4 day/3-night retreat Perform other duties as assigned to maintain, enhance, and carry out the school's mission
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Religious Studies, Religious Education, Divinity, or Theology required Master's Degree in related field preferred Experience teaching Theology or Religion, and Campus Ministry preferred Excellent classroom management, organizational, and communication skills Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues across departments High School Religion Teacher Certification or willingness to complete the process upon hiring
Practicing Catholic Pay:
$60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
