Job Summary Job Summary The Special Education SAI Teacher provides individualized education programs to students in a Learning Center serving grades Sixth through Eighth. The teacher is responsible for developing, implementing and relating the daily activities of the students to the core curriculum using the Common Core State Standards and individualized IEP goals. Through continuous collaboration with a variety of individuals and groups, including parents, district and county personnel and various agencies, the Teacher provides for the academic, social and emotional growth of each student by using a variety of strategies. The Teacher continually assesses each student's progress to maximize their fullest potential. The Special Education Teacher is responsible for using a variety of assessment tools, developing and implementing IEP'S and transition planning including mainstreaming. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Educational Specialist with Extensive Needs (Mod/Sev) credential and autism certification preferred
  • Willingness to acquire Moderate to Severe Credential waiver or enrolled in program
  • Experience working with special education students with exceptional learning and behavioral needs

Knowledge of:
  • Developmentally appropriate intervention skills for elementary school with a wide range of disabilities
  • Common Core State Standards
  • Teaching special education students, writing and attending IEPs;
  • Facilitating IEPs Copy of Transcript Credential Copy Letter of Introduction Letter(s) of Recommendation (Minimum of three (3)) Resume Education Specialist Instruction Credential
  • Mild/Moderate (Willingness to acquire waiver for Mod/Severe) Requirements / Qualifications
