Make a Meaningful Difference Every Day VerbaCare is actively seeking passionate, student-centered Special Education Teachers to support Moderate/Severe Special Day Class (SDC) and Extensive Support Needs (ESN) programs in Antioch, Gilroy and Stockton - California locations. This is an opportunity to work with a collaborative team dedicated to helping students build communication, academic, social-emotional, behavioral, and life skills in a supportive and inclusive learning environment. What You'll Do Develop and implement individualized, standards-based instruction aligned with student IEP goals. Create engaging lessons focused on academics, communication, social skills, functional life skills, and independence. Manage and support diverse learning and behavioral needs using positive behavior supports and evidence-based practices. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including SLPs, OTs, School Psychologists, BCBAs, administrators, and paraprofessionals. Participate in IEP meetings, assessments, progress monitoring, and parent conferences. Maintain accurate documentation, student records, and compliance with IDEA and state regulations. Foster a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment where all students can succeed. Partner with families to support student growth across school, home, and community settings. Qualifications Required Valid California Education Specialist Credential (Mild/Moderate Support Needs, Extensive Support Needs, or equivalent authorization). Experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities, autism, developmental disabilities, or complex learning needs. Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance. Excellent collaboration, communication, and organizational skills. Preferred Experience in ESN, Autism, Life Skills, Functional Academics, or Moderate/Severe programs. Knowledge of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), ABA principles, and behavior support strategies. Experience working with AAC systems and assistive technology. $70.00 - $72.00 per hour
