Special Education Teacher / Education Specialist (K-12) ?? San Diego, CA (Local & Traveler Friendly) Position Overview We are seeking passionate and dedicated Education Specialists / Special Education Teachers to join our team for the upcoming school year. This role supports students across K-12 grade levels with diverse learning needs, providing individualized instruction and fostering an inclusive classroom environment.
Schedule & Compensation Hours:
34-40 hours per week
Pay Rate:
$55-$80/hour (based on credentials and experience)

San Diego, CA Open to: Local candidates & travel professionals Key Responsibilities Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs Provide direct instruction and specialized academic support Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs Support classroom behavior management and social-emotional development Participate in IEP meetings, assessments, and team collaboration Qualifications Active California Education Specialist Credential required Must hold one of the following: Mild/Moderate (M/M) Moderate/Severe (M/S) Extensive Support Needs (ESN) or equivalent Or legacy credentials (e.g., Severely Handicapped) Prior school-based or special education experience preferred Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills Benefits & Perks Competitive weekly pay Full benefits package (medical, dental, vision) Paid sick time Work-life balance focused schedule Opportunity to work with diverse K-12 student populations Supportive team environment and professional growth opportunities Why Join Us? The Special Education Teacher has a commitment to team participation in planning and implementation of student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred State Teacher Certification;
