Job Description

Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher - Telehealth Job Type Contract A professional opportunity is available for a Teacher specializing in Visual Impairment to support students through a combination of onsite and telehealth services. This contract position is located in Elk Grove, CA, with some flexibility for remote work tailored to conduct virtual Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide vision services to students approximately twice weekly, with sessions lasting 60 minutes each. Deliver monthly in-person vision services totaling 60 minutes per student. Conduct a yearly parent consultation amounting to 180 minutes. Facilitate virtual IEP meetings for students' educational planning and collaboration. Administer compensatory services totaling 500 minutes beyond standard service time. Coordinate services in alignment with each student's IEP requirements. Support service continuity potentially extending through the summer months.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification and experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI). Proven ability to manage both onsite and virtual instruction, including IEP meeting facilitation. Strong organizational and communication skills for coordinating with students, parents, and educational teams. Flexibility to accommodate a hybrid service delivery model. Commitment to adherence with state and federal special education guidelines.
