Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher with expertise as an Educational Specialist to support students in a school setting. This full-time, permanent position is based in the Oakland, CA area and covers the remainder of the current school year.
Responsibilities include:
Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities Collaborating with general education teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success and inclusion Monitoring and documenting student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed Ensuring compliance with state and federal special education regulations and guidelines Providing direct instruction and support to students across various disabilities, fostering a supportive and effective learning environment Desired qualifications and experience: Valid Special Education credential (Educational Specialist) recognized in California Proven experience teaching students with diverse learning needs within a K12 setting Knowledge of assessment tools and techniques for special education students Strong communication skills for working effectively with families, teachers, and administration Commitment to student advocacy and differentiated instruction
