Job Description - Teacher Employer would be interested in Training under the On The Job Training Program (OJT) Position Summary The lead Teacher creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for children. This role involves assisting with classroom management, implementing lesson plans, supporting individual and group activities, and promoting children's social, emotional, and academic development. The Teacher will also ensures compliance with state licensing requirements and program standards. Key Responsibilities The Lead Teacher will be supervising children in classrooms, playgrounds, cafeterias, and on field trips. Support lesson implementation through tutoring, small group work, and one-on-one student assistance. Reinforce classroom rules, social skills, and positive behavior strategies. Help prepare, organize, and maintain instructional materials, supplies, and equipment. Monitor and record children's progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents when appropriate. Assist with recreational and enrichment activities to promote physical, social, and emotional development. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and parent conferences as required. Requirements The requirements for this position are as follows: Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Child Development, or
Bachelor's degree (BA) Either one or both degrees are required. In accordance with California licensing regulations, all Assistant Teachers must: Meet the minimum educational requirements listed above. Pass a background check and fingerprint clearance through the Department of Justice, FBI, and Child Abuse Index. Complete health and safety training, including CPR and First Aid certification. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience working with children in a classroom, daycare, or childcare setting. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to be patient, flexible, and supportive in a diverse learning environment. Work Environment This position operates in a classroom setting with frequent interaction with children, families, and staff.
