Job Description

Special Education Teacher - Imperial Beach, CA (2026-2027 School Year) Amergis Educational Staffing Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking dedicated Special Education Teachers to provide high-quality instruction and support to K-12 students in Imperial Beach, CA for the 2026-2027 school year. This role involves working collaboratively with school staff to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) that support student success.

37 hours per week (approximately 7.5 hours/day)
Contract Length:
1 school year
Pay Rate:
$70/hour (local)
Assignment Details:
Education Specialist (RSP-type itinerant role split between 2 schools) Education Specialist SDC Mild/Moderate - primary Education Specialist SDC Mild/Moderate - upper grades Responsibilities Provide specialized instruction to students with mild/moderate and moderate/severe disabilities Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams Offer instructional support, tutoring, and accommodations Consult with general education teachers and staff to support student progress Maintain compliance with all educational and professional standards Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree from an accredited university (preferred) Valid state teaching certification as required by state/district Special Education certification preferred At least 1 year of teaching experience (preferred) LBS1 or equivalent endorsement preferred Current CPR (if applicable) TB screening/health clearance as required Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements Must be at least 18 years old Benefits At Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits: Competitive pay & weekly paychecks Health, dental, vision, and life insurance 401(k) savings plan Awards and recognition programs Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status.
