Special Education Teacher Cheerful Helpers Child and Family Study Center Los Angeles, CA Job Details Full-time $65,500 - $72,000 a year 3 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Qualifications Individual / group counseling Teamwork Working with children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) Working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders Teaching Certification Bachelor's degree Working with families Special Education Working with families with children Special Education Certification Parent-teacher conferences (communication methods) Full Job Description Cheerful Helpers Child and Family Study Center is seeking a Special Education Kindergarten - 1st grade Teacher to work with children with developmental delays, social-emotional difficulties, learning differences, sensory processing disorders and high functioning ASD. Our therapeutic preschool - 1st grade offers small classes with 6-9 children and a 1:2 staff:student ratio. We use the Common Core Curriculum enhanced by an emphasis on social-emotional development, together with art, music, movement and yoga. Parents are highly motivated and involved in the program. This is a chance to do meaningful work in a long established and stable organization with a highly trained and experienced multi-disciplinary and supportive team. It is a great opportunity for personal and professional growth.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree Masters Degree In Special Education, Social Work, Marriage And Family Counseling and/or
Psychology Preferred Exceptional Communication Skills:
Verbal And Written CA Special Education Credential.
Mild To Moderate With Autism Authorization or Enrollment In Intern Credential Program Experience Working With Families And Children With Developmental Challenges Outstanding Team And Work Ethic Live Scan Fingerprint And Tb Clearances Duties:
Assessment And Comprehensive Planning For Young Children With Social, Emotional, Communication and/or Learning Disorders, Including High Functioning ASD Provide Individual And Group Educational Interventions As Part Of A Clinical And Educational Multidisciplinary Collaborative Treatment Team Develop And Implement Classroom Curriculum To Meet Group And Individual Educational, Social, And Emotional Needs Meet With Parents And Family Therapist 3x
Yearly To Review Student Progress/Goals Write IEP Goals, Progress Reports And Participate In IEP Meetings As Required By School District Contracts Help To Maintain A Safe Therapeutic And Learning Environment For Children, Their Families, Staff, Interns And Trainees Demonstrate Initiative And Flexibility In Meeting The Needs Of Our Growing Program Job Type:
