Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Exciting opportunity now available for a dedicated educator with expertise in special education (mod/severe) to make a positive impact supporting students in a dynamic school setting near Los Angeles, CA. This contract role is ideal for a passionate teacher who is committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students with moderate to severe needs.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
Valid Special Education teaching credentials (mod/severe specialization preferred) Experience as a Case Manager in a school or educational environment Strong knowledge of IEP processes, compliance, and documentation Ability to design and implement individualized instruction and behavioral strategies Excellent communication skills for collaboration with staff, students, and families Flexibility and desire to adapt to diverse school and classroom settings
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with mod/severe exceptionalities Serve as a case manager for an assigned caseload, ensuring services and accommodations are delivered according to student plans Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and family members to promote student growth and inclusion Adapt curriculum and create lesson plans tailored to each student's unique learning profile Support students in achieving both academic and functional life skills goals Maintain up-to-date records and comply with all relevant laws and district policies This role offers the chance to work full-time in a supportive and enthusiastic school community, making a direct difference in the lives of students who need it most.
