Job Description
Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact by supporting elementary students with mild to moderate needs in a welcoming school environment. This contract position offers the opportunity to build relationships, foster growth, and be a vital resource for learners, staff, and families throughout the academic year.
Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid Special Education Teaching credential, with authorization to serve mild to moderate caseloads Experience working with elementary-age students in a special education setting Strong skills in adapting and modifying curricula to suit individual learning styles and needs Effective communication skills for collaborating with colleagues, parents, and related service providers Passion for inclusive education and dedication to student growth Up-to-date on best practices and committed to ongoing professional developmentCore Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction and academic support to a caseload of mild to moderate elementary students Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), monitor progress, and maintain compliance with legal and educational standards Collaborate with general education teachers to deliver services within inclusive and resource settings Maintain thorough and timely documentation in accordance with district and state requirements Utilize evidence-based strategies to foster student independence, self-advocacy, and social-emotional skills Communicate regularly with families, fostering a supportive partnership in student education Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and multidisciplinary team discussionsBenefits and Perks:
