This role involves designing and implementing individualized instructional plans that support students with diverse learning needs, including those with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, visual impairments, and other disabilities. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering inclusive learning environments, utilizing evidence-based teaching strategies, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to promote student success. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children by supporting their academic, social, and emotional development through innovative instructional methods. Responsibilities Develop and implement personalized education plans aligned with each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP), ensuring compliance with legal and educational standards. Deliver engaging lessons across various subjects such as literacy, math, physical education, music therapy, and recreational therapy tailored to individual student needs. Utilize a range of instructional strategies including curriculum development, applied behavior analysis, instructional design, and learning technology to enhance learning outcomes. Conduct assessments using standardized testing and formative evaluations to monitor progress and adjust teaching approaches accordingly. Collaborate with speech therapists, behavioral therapists, occupational therapists, and other specialists to support comprehensive student development. Manage classroom environments effectively through classroom management techniques that promote positive behavior and active engagement. Provide behavioral health support and behavioral management strategies to foster a safe and supportive learning atmosphere. Support early childhood education initiatives including preschool experience, toddler care, early intervention programs, and Montessori methods where applicable. Maintain detailed documentation of student progress, IEP goals achievement, and communication logs for ongoing review and reporting. Mentor colleagues and provide guidance on best practices in special education teaching methods. Engage in ongoing professional development related to special education laws, learning technology advancements, literacy education, visual impairment education, and other relevant areas. Experience Prior classroom experience working with children in special education settings is essential. Demonstrated expertise in working with individuals with disabilities such as autism spectrum disorder, developmental disabilities, visual impairments, or hearing impairments. Proven ability to develop curriculum tailored to diverse learner needs across early childhood through adolescence. Experience implementing behavioral therapy techniques including applied behavior analysis (ABA) and behavioral health strategies. Familiarity with IEP development processes, standardized testing procedures, and progress reporting requirements. Knowledge of instructional design principles for inclusive classrooms utilizing assistive technologies and learning tools. Experience in private school environments or early intervention programs is advantageous. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with students, parents/guardians, colleagues, and external specialists.
