POSITION DESCRIPTION

Under the direction of the Principal, the job of Special Education Teacher is done for the purpose(s) of special education instructional services to students enrolled in the Leadership Military Academy to ensure appropriate instruction as determined by California State Standards. The incumbent is responsible for developing and employing strategies to build honor, pride, self-discipline, and leadership in youth through positive behavior management. The following documents are required upon hire: Valid CA Driver's License, Fingerprint Clearance, TB Clearance, Bachelors degree.

REQUIRED ATTACHMENTS/DOCUMENTS A

• Two letters of reference/recommendation (Must be dated within the last 2 years of the position closing date)
• Letter of introduction (Must specifically reference the position for which you have applied)
• Current Resume
• A valid California Mild/Moderate or equivalent Special Education credential. English Learner authorization is also required

EXPERIENCE

Experience relevant to the above duties will be considered when making the selection decision.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university is required. Master's degree desired.

CERTIFICATES/CREDENTIALS/LICENSES

• Possession of a valid California Mild/Moderate or equivalent Special Education credential. English Learner authorization is also required
• EL certification such as CLAD, BCLAD, or SDAIE You must provide copies of permit/credential as required for the position or provide evidence of qualifying for required permit/credential with your application materials to qualify for the position.
