Category Schools - Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist Job Type Contract A full-time opportunity is available for a Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) Aide on a contract basis, supporting students in a dynamic educational environment near Fontana, CA. The role spans the school year, from August 26 to June 27, with interviews taking place immediately. This position provides valuable assistance to students with hearing impairments, working collaboratively with teachers and specialists to ensure inclusive learning experiences.
Key Qualifications:
Prior experience as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist, Teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, or Hearing Impaired Specialist Strong understanding of educational accommodations and communication strategies for students with hearing loss Excellent interpersonal skills and patience when working with children and collaborating with educators Ability to modify instruction materials according to individual student needs Familiarity with common assistive listening devices and technology used in classroom settingsRole Responsibilities:
Assist DHH students in mainstream and special education classrooms under the supervision of certified staff Support classroom instruction, communication access, and social interactions Provide direct support with note-taking, reinforcement of lessons, and clarification as needed Help students use assistive listening devices or other communication tools Participate in team meetings to discuss student progress and strategies for academic success Foster an inclusive environment that encourages student engagement and independence This full-time position offers 37.5 hours per week throughout the academic year, providing the chance to make a significant impact in students' lives.
