Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A part-time position is available for a qualified teacher specializing in visual impairments to support students during the 2026/2027 school year. This opportunity is based in Mountain View, CA, requiring in-person attendance and commitment to approximately 8-20 hours per week.
Responsibilities include:
Providing specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments to enhance their learning and independence. Collaborating with general education teachers, families, and support staff to adapt curriculum and materials. Utilizing assessment tools to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs. Implementing assistive technology and teaching orientation and mobility skills. Participating in meetings and professional development focused on visual impairment education.
Qualifications:
Must hold valid California Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) licensure. Experience working with visually impaired students in an educational setting. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to develop and modify instructional materials and strategies. Commitment to student-centered teaching and fostering an inclusive learning environment.
Location:
Mountain View, California - position requires in-person presence at the school. This contract opportunity offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on students' educational experiences while working part-time hours. Qualified candidates with CA TVI licensure are encouraged to apply to contribute specialized expertise in visual impairment education. Compensation for this position ranges from $35.25 to $58.25.
