This position is exempt from overtime.
Annual stipend pay:
Master's $1,200 or Doctorate $2,000 (Prorated upon hire) Length of Work Year 7 hours per day/11 months/183 days annually (Prorated upon hire) Employment Type Full Time Benefits Generous benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision for employee and dependents. Sick leave accrued. $50,000 of employer-paid life insurance provided. This position qualifies for CalSTRS retirement. The employee contribution rate for CalSTRS is either 10.25% or 10.205% of monthly earnings depending on the membership date. Location Special Education - Oakdale Heights - Oroville, CA Start Date August 4, 2026 About the Employer The Butte County Office of Education (BCOE) is located in Northern California and serves 13 districts and 17 charter schools in Butte County and provides services to students and educators in all 58 California Counties and employs 1400 people in Butte County and across the state. Job Summary Job Summary Credential Information This position requires a valid, unexpired California Education Specialist Credential in one of the following areas:
  • Extensive Support Needs
  • Moderate/Severe Disabilities with an Education Specialist Bridge - Extensive Support Needs The following credentials may be considered with the understanding that the selected candidate must work with Butte County Office of Education Credentials to obtain the required authorization or permit:
  • Moderate/Severe Disabilities Credential will be considered; however, will need to obtain the Education Specialist Bridge - Extensive Support Needs authorization within 1 year of employment
  • Mild to Moderate Support Needs Credential
  • Mild/Moderate Disabilities Credential Intern Credentials and Emergency Permits may be considered. Applicants who do not currently hold the required California Education Specialist Credential should upload documentation demonstrating eligibility to obtain the authorization, including one or more of the following:
  • An Intern Eligibility Letter from a CTC-approved Intern Program
  • Out of state Special Education Teaching Credential authorizing instruction to students with Extensive Support Needs preferred
  • Valid California General Education Teaching Credential
  • Transcripts showing ALL degrees earned and ALL coursework completed, including Community College Coursework (unofficial Transcripts are acceptable) A Valid, unexpired English Learner authorization (e.g. embedded EL Authorization, CLAD, BCLAD or SDAIE) is required.
