What We Look For:
Valid Special Education Teaching credential (Moderate/Severe or Extensive Support Needs authorization in California) Experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities in a school setting Comfort with adapting curriculum and developing IEPs tailored to individual student needs Strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues Dedication to creating equitable, inclusive, and structured learning environments Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction to students with extensive support needs, ensuring access to curriculum and opportunities for growth Assess student strengths and barriers to develop and implement effective Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Use evidence-based teaching strategies, data collection, and progress monitoring to inform instruction Communicate regularly with families, therapists, and team members to maintain consistent support and progress updates Foster a positive, supportive classroom atmosphere that prioritizes safety, dignity, and student voice
