Length of Work Year Traditional Calendar Employment Type Full Time FAX Number 619-473-9728 Job Summary Job Summary Mountain Empire High School is in search of an Agriculture Teacher to join their 2-person program. Located in a rural setting in the mountains east of San Diego, Mountain Empire High School serves approximately 400 students in grades 9-12. We offer small class sizes averaging under 30 students per class in a majority of our core subject classes. There is ample opportunity for teachers to become involved in the school community and to forge positive relationships with students. Our students come from diverse backgrounds, and many become deeply involved in the opportunities provided by our school and dynamic teaching staff. Current facilities include classrooms, greenhouse, and 2 shop areas. Program expansion and facility upgrades are in the planning stages. Position would adhere to the district salary schedule with an opportunity for multiple additional stipends, including a summer and FFA Advisor stipend. Potential courses taught include Agriscience, Ag Biology, Ag Chemistry, Floral Design, Ag Mechanics, and Ag Welding. Essential Elements:
Print As a director of learning helps students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able and responsible men and women. Single Subject in given subject, with BCLAD (preferred) or CLAD certification; must have the knowledge of and ability to implement the subject matter, philosophical, social, and educational concepts relative to the duties and responsibilities of a school teacher.

A valid California Career Technical Education (CTE) Agriculture and Natural Resources Teaching Credential; with a English Learners authorization. Must have knowledge of and ability to implement the subject matter, philosophical, social, and educational concepts relative to the duties and responsibilities of a school teacher.
