Aequor is hiring full-time Special Education Teachers (Mild/Mod and SDC) in Ramona, CA, for the upcoming 26/27 school year! Multiple positions to choose from throughout grades K-6.
Pay:
$60 - $63 per hour W-2 (Year-round pay options available if preferred) Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to support elementary school students with diverse learning needs in an inclusive educational environment. The ideal candidate will develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), foster a positive classroom atmosphere, and collaborate with staff, parents, and specialists to promote student success. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's educational and developmental journeys, particularly those with disabilities or special needs. Duties Develop, adapt, and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs. Manage classroom behavior effectively using behavior management strategies and classroom management techniques. Support students with autism, developmental disabilities, or other special needs through specialized instructional strategies. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support for each student's educational plan. Foster a safe, inclusive environment that promotes child welfare and emotional well-being. Skills Valid state special education teaching certification (appropriate endorsement required). Strong classroom management and behavior management skills to maintain a positive learning environment. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, colleagues, and specialists. Experience working with children with autism, developmental disabilities, or other disabilities; familiarity with working with people with disabilities is essential. Knowledge of curriculum development across various subjects including literacy education, math, physical education, and early childhood education. Proficiency with learning technology tools and educational software applications. Ability to design and implement lesson plans tailored to diverse learners' needs, including preschool experience or daycare background is advantageous. Experience in early intervention programs and understanding of childhood development stages. Skills in speech therapy techniques or working alongside speech therapists are considered a plus. Familiarity with IEP processes and experience conducting assessments aligned with standardized testing protocols. Compassionate approach to working with children requiring behavioral therapy or behavioral health support; experience working with children with disabilities or in private school settings is desirable.
