This position will be part of a team teaching classroom where you'll be responsible for the safety and fun environment for children and co-teaching. You must be able to jump right in and pick-up where needed. That could include supervising the paint area, helping to cut out a few shapes, or changing a diaper or two. The benefit is that you will never get bored! We're a fun team and enjoy working together. Responsibilities and Duties Substitute/Support classrooms as assigned. Assume the responsibilities of the classroom teacher in his/her absence. Follow the lead of and support the assigned classroom teacher who is present. Work with all children in a caring/professional manner, utilizing developmentally appropriate practices. Encourage the maximum intellectual, social/emotional and physical growth and development of each child through language and curriculum. As requested, assist teaching teams in planning and implementing appropriate classroom activities. Maintain on-going verbal and written communication with parents. Assist in maintaining classrooms in an orderly manner and assist in classroom/center cleaning. Participates in scheduled training. Keeps confidential all information pertaining to children, families and staff. Perform any other assigned task relevant to the effective operation of the company or assigned by supervisor. Qualifications and Skills Associates degree in Early Childhood Education or related field or 15 units of ECE coursework. Experience teaching infant/toddler and preschool-age children. Must be available year round. Must meet the Child Care Licensing requirements. Must be able to lift 40 pounds, bend, sit, and stand for extended periods.
