Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A school district in Ridgecrest, CA is seeking a qualified professional to serve as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing for the 2026-2027 school year. This contract position focuses on providing specialized educational support to students with hearing impairments, ensuring their academic and social success within the school environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering individualized instruction and support to students with hearing loss, primarily in a 1:1 setting.
- Developing and implementing tailored lesson plans that accommodate students learning needs.
- Collaborating with teachers, specialists, and families to create an inclusive educational experience.
- Utilizing appropriate educational strategies and assistive technologies for deaf and hard of hearing students.
- Monitoring and documenting student progress and adapting approaches as necessary.
- Attending meetings and professional development relevant to DHH education.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Certification or licensure in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education.
- Experience working with deaf or hard of hearing students in a school setting.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to use and teach American Sign Language (ASL) preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to student-centered instruction and advocacy.

Onsite, 15 hours per weekContract Dates:
