Category Schools - Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a full-time DHH Aide. This crucial role focuses on providing specialized assistance to children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a school environment close to San Bernardino, CA, with an assignment running from August 26 to June 27. You'll take pride in making a meaningful difference while working a consistent 37.5-hour week alongside dedicated education professionals.
Desired Qualifications:
Prior experience or training as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) Specialist, Teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, or Hearing Impaired Specialist Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in an educational setting American Sign Language (ASL) fluency or proficiency preferred Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Reliability and compassion for supporting individual learning needs Ability to adapt instructional strategies to address unique student requirements High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant certifications or credentials preferredRole Responsibilities:
Assist Deaf/Hard of Hearing students with instructional and communication needs in classroom and small-group settings Utilize assistive technology, ASL, or cued speech as appropriate to support student learning Collaborate closely with educators, specialists, and families to implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals Monitor student progress and contribute insights for planning and adjustments Encourage independence, inclusion, and academic growth within the school community Maintain confidentiality, safety, and positivity in all interactions This full-time contract offers the chance to work during the standard school calendar while playing a pivotal role in students' educational journeys.
