Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to inspire and empower students with diverse learning needs. In this vital role, you will develop and implement tailored educational plans that foster academic growth, social-emotional development, and independence for students with disabilities. Duties Design and deliver individualized lesson plans aligned with students' IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals, incorporating curriculum development, literacy education, math, and life skills. Implement evidence-based behavioral therapy and behavioral management strategies to support positive behavior and social skills development. Conduct assessments using standardized testing tools to monitor progress and adjust instructional methods accordingly. Collaborate closely with speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other specialists to support speech therapy needs, deaf education, and early intervention strategies. Manage classroom environments effectively through strong classroom management techniques, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning space for students with autism and other developmental disabilities. Provide tutoring, mentoring, and additional support tailored to individual student needs in areas such as communication skills, library services, or preschool readiness. Maintain detailed records of student progress, IEP documentation, behavioral reports, and communication logs while ensuring compliance with educational standards. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Childhood Development, Early Childhood Education or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred. Valid teaching certification/license for special education or equivalent credentials in your region. Proven classroom experience working with children with disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental disabilities, or behavioral health challenges. Strong knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, literacy education, math instruction, and behavior management techniques. Experience working with IEPs and implementing individualized teaching strategies effectively. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with colleagues, parents, therapists, and students' families. Familiarity with Montessori methods or private school settings is a plus; preschool experience is highly valued.
