This role focuses on supporting students with a variety of learning, behavioral, and developmental needs by creating individualized instruction and a supportive classroom environment where students can grow academically, socially, and emotionally. The ideal candidate is patient, collaborative, and passionate about helping students succeed. You'll work closely with families, service providers, and school staff to ensure students receive the support they need both inside and outside the classroom. Responsibilities Develop and implement lesson plans based on each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP) Adapt instruction to meet a wide range of learning styles and academic abilities Monitor student progress through assessments, observations, and data collection Support positive student behavior using effective classroom management and behavioral strategies Collaborate with speech therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, and other support staff Participate in IEP meetings and maintain accurate documentation related to student goals and progress Create a safe, structured, and engaging classroom environment Provide additional academic and social-emotional support when needed Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and classroom updates Stay current on best practices in special education and participate in professional development opportunities Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's preferred) Valid Special Education teaching credential/license Experience working with students with disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder and developmental delays Strong understanding of IEP implementation, classroom accommodations, and differentiated instruction Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff Strong organizational and communication skills Experience with behavior intervention strategies and classroom behavior support Comfortable working in inclusive, resource, or self-contained classroom settings We are committed to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment where every student has the opportunity to succeed.
