The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students with diverse learning needs. This role involves developing individualized education plans (IEPs), implementing effective teaching strategies, and collaborating with parents and other professionals to ensure the success of each student. Responsibilities Develop and implement tailored lesson plans that accommodate the unique needs of each student. Utilize effective classroom management techniques to create a positive learning atmosphere. Conduct assessments to evaluate students' progress and adjust instruction accordingly. Collaborate with speech therapists, library services, and behavioral health professionals to support student development. Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns that may arise. Provide early intervention strategies for preschool-aged children to enhance their learning experiences. Foster literacy education through engaging activities that promote reading and writing skills. Maintain accurate records of student performance and IEP goals.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Special Education from an accredited institution Valid CA Education Specialist credential or certification for Special Education Teaching (mod/severe) Demonstrated experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting, with a strong emphasis on supporting those with special needs
