Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a meaningful contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher working with elementary students in a supportive school environment. This full-time, onsite position spans the academic year from early August to early June, providing you the chance to make a lasting impact on students with mild to moderate needs. As part of the special education team, you'll build strong relationships, support growth and ensure an inclusive classroom experience.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Special Education Teaching credential Experience supporting elementary-aged students with mild to moderate disabilities Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and compliance Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills Ability to manage a diverse caseload with sensitivity and creativity
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction and support to elementary students, implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) Develop lesson plans tailored to diverse learning styles and needs Work closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation Foster a safe, positive classroom environment where all students feel valued and included Utilize ongoing assessment and data to drive instructional decisions and support student progress This role offers a consistent 37.5-hour workweek and a fulfilling caseload.
