The Helix School is seeking a dynamic and compassionate Elementary Special Education Teacher for the 2026-20267 school year. Competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package Dedicated professional development funds A collaborative, interdisciplinary team including SLPs, OTs, mental health clinicians, and behavioral staff A relationship-based model that values joy, structure, and inclusion What You'll Do As an Elementary Special Education Teacher , you'll lead a classroom of 6-8 neurodivergent students, helping them build early academic, functional, and social-emotional skills through hands-on, engaging instruction and predictable routines. You'll work closely with specialists and families to ensure that each child's individualized needs are supported.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver developmentally appropriate, differentiated instruction across core subject areas Support foundational literacy, numeracy, communication, and executive functioning skills Create a classroom environment that promotes predictability, safety, and connection Implement visual supports, sensory strategies, and structured routines Lead the IEP process, including goal development, progress monitoring, and meetings Collaborate closely with aides, therapists, and families Celebrate student progress and encourage self-expression and confidence What You Bring A valid California Education Specialist Credential (Mild/Moderate Support Needs or Moderate/Severe), or eligibility for intern status Experience teaching neurodivergent students, particularly those with autism A playful, warm, and grounded presence that supports regulation and connection Skill in differentiated instruction, behavior supports, and visual teaching strategies Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Ready to Apply?
