About the School BOOST of Cypress School is a small non-public school located in San Rafael. BOOST serves children and young adults with Orthopedic Impairments like Cerebral Palsy and other motor disabilities TK- 22. Our classroom teachers work with a team of specialists to provide individualized and systematic academic programs that support each student's unique mobility and academic needs. From occupational, physical, and speech therapy, to behavioral needs and life skill building, our unique team of educators work to create the learning environment that best suits each student in a fun and engaging way.

As we continue to grow our team at BOOST, we are seeking an innovative and compassionate educator who is eager to help build a new and creative approach to educating students with mobility challenges. The ideal candidate will focus on empowering students to realize their potential, fostering their independence, and supporting their unique needs in the classroom. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside a multidisciplinary team, co-teaching with the mobility specialist and therapist to create a dynamic and supportive learning environment. You will be an integral part of our mission to provide individualized, student-centered education that promotes both academic and personal growth.Key Responsibilities:
Individualized Small Group Instruction:
Provide tailored instruction to students in small group settings, ensuring that teaching strategies and materials meet their individual learning needs and abilities.IEP Implementation:
Develop, implement, and monitor student goals outlined in the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) while working closely with the team to track progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed. Collaboration withMultidisciplinary Team:
Work closely with the mobility specialist, therapist, and other staff members to deliver a coordinated approach to education that supports students' physical and educational development.Supervision and Guidance:
Oversee and guide classroom assistants, ensuring they are equipped to provide effective support to students in alignment with educational goals. Positive Relationships withStudents and Families:
Build strong, positive relationships with students, providing a nurturing and supportive environment, and maintain open communication with families to ensure their involvement in the educational process.Creative Contributions:
Bring innovative ideas and approaches to the classroom, supporting an atmosphere of creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving.Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field. Special Education cleared credential preferred. Experience working with children in an educational setting, particularly those with developmental disabilities or behavioral challenges. Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Knowledge of educational practices, behavior intervention strategies, and child development principles. Valid California Driver's license with a clear driving record Cleared fingerprint/background test required Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test required Negative TB test and medical examination required First Aid certified or willing to become certified required Must be available Monday-Friday 6:45am-5pmBenefits:
