Timeline:
ASAP Start through the 2026/2027 School Year Role Overview We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher specializing in Moderate to Severe disabilities for a part-time morning position. This role is ideal for an educator looking for a consistent, focused environment, as you will be providing direct instructional support for a small caseload, currently consisting of one 2nd-grade student . This position begins immediately and extends through the full 2026/2027 academic year, offering long-term stability in a rewarding elementary setting.
Key Responsibilities Targeted Instruction:
Provide specialized academic and functional instruction tailored to the student's unique needs and IEP goals.
IEP Implementation:
Develop, review, and implement Individualized Education Programs, ensuring all modifications and accommodations are executed.
Collaboration:
Work closely with service providers, general education staff, and families to ensure a comprehensive support system for the student.
Progress Monitoring:
Maintain accurate data and documentation regarding student progress, behavioral trends, and developmental milestones.
Qualifications & Requirements Certification:
MUST hold an active California Education Specialist Instruction Credential•Moderate/Severe.
Experience:
Previous experience working with elementary-aged students with moderate to severe needs is highly preferred.
Compliance:
Thorough understanding of California special education laws and IEP processes.
Clearance:
Valid California DOJ/FBI fingerprint clearance and TB test.
Position Details Grade Level:
2nd
Grade Hours:
17.5 hours per week (8:30 AM•12:00 PM)
Contract:
