- Full-time Job Overview Special Education Teacher M/M-M/S We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment for students with diverse needs. This role involves developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs), adapting curriculum, and employing various teaching strategies to support the academic and social growth of students with disabilities, including autism and developmental disabilities. Responsibilities Develop and implement tailored lesson plans that accommodate the unique learning styles of each student. Collaborate with parents, teachers, and support staff to create effective IEPs that meet the educational goals of students. Utilize various teaching methods, including behavioral therapy, speech therapy, and early intervention strategies to enhance student learning. Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement and effective behavior management techniques. Conduct assessments and standardized testing to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly. Provide tutoring and mentoring to students to support their literacy education, math skills, and overall academic achievement. Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress in accordance with school policies. Foster a supportive classroom environment that encourages communication skills and social interaction among students. Engage in continuous professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices in special education. Experience A degree in Special Education or a related field is required. Proven experience working with students with disabilities, including autism and developmental disabilities. Familiarity with early childhood education principles and practices is preferred. Experience in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management is essential. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, and colleagues. Previous experience in private schools or Montessori settings is a plus. Knowledge of library services or behavioral health practices can be beneficial for supporting student needs.
