Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field, active Deaf & Hard of Hearing (DHH) certification, and 1+ years Deaf & Hard of Hearing Specialist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. This full-time position offers an opportunity to support students with hearing impairments across K-12 grades during the 2026-2027 school year. The role requires a dedicated professional to provide specialized instruction and support as an itinerant Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist, serving multiple school sites with mileage reimbursement.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across K-12 settings. Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to develop and implement effective communication strategies and accommodations. Monitor student progress, maintain detailed records, and participate in IEP meetings as needed. Travel between two school sites, ensuring consistent educational support and resource provision. Utilize knowledge of assistive technology and auditory rehabilitation techniques to enhance student learning.Desired Qualifications:
Certification or licensure in Deaf / Hard of Hearing education. Experience working with K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in an educational environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team setting. Positions are based in South San Francisco, CA, serving two designated school sites.
