Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A full-time position is available for a Teacher for the Visually Impaired, supporting students of all ages during the 2026-2027 school year. This role is based in South San Francisco, CA, and involves working across 2 to 3 different school sites.
Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments to enhance their learning and development. Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and support staff to create individualized education plans (IEPs). Assess students' skills and needs related to visual impairment and adapt teaching methods accordingly. Utilize assistive technology and resources to facilitate effective learning. Travel between assigned sites, ensuring consistent support and education for students.
Qualifications:
Certification or licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired. Experience working with students across various age groups with visual impairments. Strong knowledge of teaching strategies, assistive technology, and resources tailored to visually impaired learners. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to manage responsibilities across multiple locations.
