Job description "Life is all about the Giggles, those precious life moments where laughter meets learning" Have a B.A. in early childhood development? Project CHELA, Early intervention specialists, help children with developmental delays by providing their parents and caregivers with strategies to help their children in a natural setting, the home, and the community, utilizing the parent-as-coach approach . The early intervention specialist is trained and specializes in the unique development of children 0-3 years of age. The early intervention specialist works with each family or caregiver to look at the challenges the child may face and provide specific positive strength-based strategies that supports each child and family reach their goals as outlined in the IFSP. Responsibilities:
Will require driving to each home in North County San Diego As an individual 1099 Independent Contractor, you will not be eligible for Medical, Dental, or Paid Sick Leave. Collect and analyze data related to student progress and behavior. Work together with families and other professionals in evaluating children and planning intervention services that meet the developmental needs of each child. Attend teacher training sessions. Prepare 6-month and annual progress reports for each child. Coach parents in activities they can incorporate into their daily routines. Participate in appropriate play-based activities with the child and caregiver or parents. Create activities that promote the development of cognitive, language, speech, social skills, fine motor, and gross motor skills. Monitor and complete evaluations of the child to ensure the Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) is effective and accomplished. Recommend resources for additional services as needed and maintain communication with the SDRC coordinator.
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field At least 1 year of experience working with children with learning disabilities between the ages of 0 to 3. Knowledge of data collection methods and analysis techniques—strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to adapt interventions based on individual student needs—familiarity with special education laws and regulations
