03/19/2027 School District 27J is seeking certified roaming benefitted Special Education substitute teachers to provide quality classroom instruction to Special Education students at all grade levels throughout the District for the 2026-27 school year. This position will be assigned work every school day, includes benefits, 8 sick days per year and will be paid over 12 months. Benefitted special education subs will be assigned to elementary, middle or high school locations on a daily basis by the substitute coordinator based on greatest need. There may be times that the benefitted special education substitute may be required to be placed in a long term position at a specific school or a para position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Substitute teachers must be flexible in regards to where and how often they work. Substitute teachers must be able to accept jobs with very little notice. Substitute teachers must continue a high quality learning environment in their classroom.
Requirements:
Benefitted Special Education Substitute teachers must hold a Bachelor's degree; A teaching license with Special Education Endorsement from the Colorado Dept. of Education (CDE) is preferred. Valid licenses may include three-year or five-year substitute licenses and initial or professional teaching licenses.
Experience:
Classroom Experience working with students is required Experience with Special Education students in some setting required Successful substitute teachers must have a passion for teaching, and have a desire to work with a diverse group of children.
