Head Start providestheeducation staff with peer andintensivecoaching, tuition reimbursement, training,professionaldevelopment,and wellnessopportunities. Develop, prepare, and implement daily, weekly, and monthly instructional activitiesin accordance withHead Start Program Performance Standards, program goals, school readiness goals, and other program requirements, while considering the individual needs and skill levels of the children. Provide instruction to children involved in various classroom activities, including educational programs to develop children's growth in socio-emotional, motor, cognitive, language, health, and personal hygiene skills, usingdevelopmentappropriateactivities, best practices, and positive discipline practices. Observe, record, and evaluate each child's activity, performance, behavior, and development; accommodate andmodifyindividual activities based on developmental needs or behavior. Utilize various screening tools to assess children in all areas of development, then use the outcomes to create individual learning activities that support children's learning. Adapt and implement behavior plans and Individualize Education Plan to meet the goals andobjectivesof each child receiving consultation or special education services. Attend and provide adequate information during Individualize Education Plan and behavior plan meetings for the individual child. Implementand support efforts that help individuals understanddifferences, appreciate various perspectives, and work effectively together in educational settings. Responsible for fully understanding and intentionally implementing active supervision practices consistently throughout the day. Attend andparticipatein staff meetings, workshops, formal classes, in-service training, and program events to continually advance teaching skills and knowledge. Participatingin professional development opportunities and education coaching to enhance skills andprofessional practices. Ensure andmaintaina healthy, safe, clean, and organized classroom environment. Direct classroomteam(assistant teacher and classroom aide)to supportwithdaily operations, including completing and monitoring health, meals, and attendance logs. Implement family-stylemealtimesand clean up, nurturing social/emotional and self-help development. Schedule and conduct home visits and parent/teacher conferences with families Maintain ongoing contact with parents; encourage and promote parent involvement; work with parents in developing an understanding of their role as the primary educator of their children; encourage parents in the reinforcement and transfer of concepts and behaviors from the school to the home setting; schedule and participate in parent conferences; visit parents; prepare home activities for parents and children. Support transition efforts from Head Start to kindergarten. Recruit volunteer parents toassistin the classroom. Assistin all forms of communication with parents. Ability to work and collaborate in a team to support young children with and without behavior needs, language delays, disabilities, and special needs.? Ensureaccurateand complete paperwork, meet established deadlines, follow standard operating procedures, and perform job duties efficiently andin a timely manner. Abide by medical/nutritional restrictions. Ability to use various forms of technology, including tablets and computers; navigate databases such as Smart Teach and other program databases; and communicate effectively through email, curriculum platforms, and phone calls withtimelyresponses. Alwaysmaintainconfidentiality and abide by the program's employee standard of conduct. Perform other related duties and responsibilities as needed, including accepting temporary work assignments within Adams County when regularly scheduled personnel are unavailable.? Understanding of early childhood principles of child development theory and early childhood education. Use only positive discipline practices. Apply principles and procedures of record keeping and report writing. Follow pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes, and regulations, including childcare licensing regulations. Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality. Always instruct and supervise children. Complete Teaching Strategies GOLD inter-reliability certificateas needed. Director certification and level 3 or higher on Colorado Shines PDIS Communicate clearly, concisely, and respectfully both orally and in writing, using proper English grammar, spelling, punctuation, and professional language. Establish andmaintainpositive, respectful, and professional working relationships with those contacted during work whiledemonstratinga professional attitude and appearance. Demonstrate a willingness to serve and a passion for exceeding customer service expectations. Safely operate an automobile.

Experience:

Two (2) years of experience in early childhood education/preschool setting.

Education Requirements:

Head Start Teachers must meet one of the following qualifications: Associate of Arts degree with significant coursework in Early Childhood Education or a related field. Or a bachelor's or advanced degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, with major coursework in early childhood education. Completion of Early Childhood Education coursework (ECE 101, 102, 103, 210, 238, 262, and 260), with all coursework clearly documented on official transcripts.

License or Certificate:
