Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Step into a rewarding contract role shaping young learners' journeys as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. Based near Commerce City, CO, this opportunity allows you to make a meaningful impact working with kindergarten students in a supportive school setting. The position begins on August 17, 2026, and concludes on June 3, 2027. Enjoy the flexibility of a part-time schedule—approximately 15 hours per week across 2-3 days, Monday through Friday. In this role, you'll deliver individualized instruction to kindergarteners with diverse needs, collaborating closely with other educators to create engaging and effective learning environments. Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Special Education teaching certification/license (Colorado or transferable) Previous experience working with early childhood or elementary students, particularly in special education settings Knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs) and experience developing or implementing them Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Passion for fostering inclusive, supportive classrooms
Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver tailored lessons addressing each student's learning needs Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in accordance with legal and school guidelines Collaborate with general educators, support staff, and families to promote student achievement Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources, adapting as needed Track student progress and maintain accurate documentation Participate in meetings, professional development, and training as required Compensation for this position is between $39 and $45 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
